Zimbabwe is known to most people because of the magnificent Victoria Falls – depending on how you measure it the largest waterfalls in the world. The town of Victoria Falls offers all kinds of fun and adventure: white water rafting, bungi jumping, micro-lighting, horse-back riding, and even drinking and partying (unfortunately, I don’t have pictures of the white water rafting). Zimbabwe also has gameparks, the most extensive stone ruins of pre-colonial Sub-Saharan Africa, and the beauty of Lake Kariba.<\/b><\/p>\n

As mentioned above, Zimbabwe is the country where I did the 111-meter high Bungi jump:<\/b><\/p>\n

One of the most impressive stone monuments in Sub-Saharan Africa: Great Zimbabwe (frankly, it doesn’t quite compare with Egyptian, Mayan, Incan, Chinese, Indonesian ruins…). This is where the country gets its name from.<\/b><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

These are white rhinos in Matopos National Park…<\/b><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

We had a birthday party, at which Rob and Jo (left) and Sue and Tommy (right) had a lot of fun,…<\/b><\/p>\n

… Elena was very pensive, Pat was in charge of the Sangria, and Sue was in charge of the barbeque.<\/b><\/p>\n

When it rains, we have to spend time in the truck (this is Tommy being scared by my camera)…<\/b><\/p>\n

We spent a few nights on a house-boat on Lake Kariba:<\/b><\/p>\n

I actually did catch a few fish – which tasted really nice, both raw and fried.<\/b><\/p>\n
